What is Embodied Therapy?
You are the creator of your life, You deserve deep connection to yourself. You deserve to find tools that work for you and not just on paper. I want for us to be able to use the healing power of our authentic connection to deeply relate and navigate your muddy waters. I will never work harder than you, and I will always be truthful.
Are you struggling with boundaries, expectations that are self-imposed, exhaustion and feeling “not enough”? Feeling stuck, frozen or going through a strenuous wave.
If you are having difficulty navigating your life, relationships, parenting, big (or small) life transitions – there is a way for you to orient back to yourself so you can make decisions from a place of clarity and to find more connection and meaning in your interpersonal relationships. It’s hard to remember who you are in when you are burning from both ends of the candle.
A relationship between us takes time and is an in-depth process. I help you live with yourself fully, and if you don’t know what that is, I help you find it. Therapy is one aspect of healing and yet it is entirely up to you what that journey looks like. This can be frustrating for folks who are interested or used to a provider that follows a Eurocentric lens.
Our work together will create space for vulnerable moments, profound realizations, uninhibited emotions, and lots of laughter.
MY APPROACH:
“If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together” Lilla Watson
Anti Racist & Decolonized. Rooted Integrative psychotherapy, I utilize the power of connection, through a mind body somatic approach. I have a varied extensive multidisciplinary, multimodality lens. How do you find healing and grounding outside of Eurocentric processes? What does healing, growth and liberation look like when you realize you are expert of your own lived experiences? I focus in perinatal, postpartum and life transitions and have close to a decade in experience in grief & loss, identity exploration and life transitions. You can see my offerings at the bottom of the page.
ABOUT ME:
My name is Tania, and I am first and foremost a creative human, a visual artist, community herbalist, functional movement and embodiment practitioner. I believe in decolonizing the therapeutic space. I am not perfect, and I may not be the right fit for everyone, but I find the processes by which our relationship unfolds as a platform for the relational awareness we may be seeking. I am committed to being a reflexive practitioner deconstructing the processes by which I was taught, I also find strength in honoring my own cultural and ancestral wisdom from my lineage, family and these healing practices.
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) and hold a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Washington, specializing in community organization, and have certifications in Somatic Attachment therapy; Grief & Loss (adult, children & perinatal); Perinatal mental health; Lactation education; Trauma-Informed birth, Trauma-Informed yoga and breathwork; and Psychedelic Assisted Therapies. I find value in all these teachings and try to incorporate an embodied approach with psychoeducation in our time together. I provide program facilitation in Trauma Informed Yoga for Clinicians & Educators. I am a current M.Ed. student with a concentration in Literacy and Waldorf Education.
